More Pictures From Our 1,500 Mile Roadtrip

The trees in N. Idaho were just SO heavy with snow. They would have had more, but it had warmed up above freezing one day last week and rained the original snow off the branches.
This shot was taken just outside of Coeur d'Alene, ID heading toward the 4th of July Pass. There are 3 long Passes you go through to get to Missoula and the Idaho portion of Highway 90 was clear compared to the Montana portion! I guess that's what happens when you don't charge sales tax?
This is a still pic of the Black Angus of Dillon. The video shows how long the line was much better than this.

I shot this video of Black Angus cows just north of Dillon, Montana.(It gave Patrick a break from my backseat driving;<) At around noon there is some siren song that calls these cows to walk northward in an almost perfect straight line. We have witnessed this several times (in the same spot) over the years. I'm not a cowgirl, so don't know if this is normal behavior, but it sure intrigued me. Sorry about the rumbling sound, it's road noise 'cuz I had my window rolled down. I couldn't zoom in on it or I would have lost the length of the line.

Signing off for now. I want to go read some of your blogs b4 I go to sleep. God bless you and keep you safe over the weekend my bloggy buddies! love, Cassie

gosh, not sure about all of that - I have never seen them not plow and sand the road in MT?!

Michele ~ Oh it was snowing like crazy. The road was plowed at some point, just not as recently as the Id. side.It actually seemed like the snow pack was 2 inches deeper when we crossed the ID/MT border. No kidding.I was just joking about with the tax comment though.I hope I didn't offend you.

Melanie ~ Raised in the mountains of Pennsylvania, I had lived in Phoenix my whole adult life & wanted to leave the constant sunny weather for the snow from about age 30 on.Pat said when he retired we could move where I want, soooo that's why we have our log cabin!I seem to be doing the opposite of what most old foggies do!He hasn't retired yet, so that's why we're still "snowbirds".

Betsy ~ You must come visit the inland northwest. We love it.Of course, I'm partial to the Idaho Panhandle...but spent many summers in northwest Montana too and do love that area.Glacier Natl.Park is the best.

Cassie,
Beautiful snow pictures! I'm not a cowgirl, but I was raised on a farm, and I remember that in the pastures the cows would make a worn down path where they had walked in a line to the barn. I guess it's like follow the leader ☺
