A to Z Food Monday ~ The Letter W

Watermelon sculpture is one of the most beautiful art forms. I never heard of it until the Internet. All of these photos have been taken from the Internet and most are from a website called Chinese Watermelon Art/Sculpture .
For more wonderful W's, go see Jen's blog, Unglazed. Have a great week, & whoever you may be, know that Jesus loves you!! Blessings,

Shadow Shot Sunday ~ The Phoenix Zoo ~ SSS#21

logThese are some Shadow Shots I took last March at the Phoenix Zoo. The symbol for Phoenix is the Firebird, aka the Flamingo. They were just starting to build their nests when I took these photos. That Peacock just cast such a cool shadow, I had to put him in this post too. I guess this SSS post of mine is "for the birds"!!
For more Shadow Shots please go check out Tracy's blog, Hey Harriet.

Shadow Shot Sunday ~ Lovely Young Ladies

A beautiful day in Big Sky country.
Gaye getting tips on how to make a braided rug.
The log buildings had already been auctioned off. Plenty of furniture for sale there.
Gaye near Libby Dam, Montana.
A view along the Yaak River.
Gaye near Yaak Falls.
Went to Rexford, Montana, last Saturday with my friend, Gaye. It was the first time I ever attended the West Kootenai Amish Auction. In the early morning I worked registration for our Kootenai River Run (first year I haven't actually done the run in a while) until a little after 9am. Then we took off for Rexford...the long route. 3 1/2 hours later, after a gorgeous drive through the Yaak country, we arrived. Trouble was all but 3 of the 186 quilts were already sold. Phooey! There were still some shadows to be found though. And also lots of yummy home-made ice cream, BBQ chicken and Polish sausages. I was totally captivated by how lovely the young Amish girls were. Tall and slender with a look of purity that melted my heart! Gaye and I had a grand time eating and talking and "window" shopping! I hope you enjoy these shots and get a feel for how sweet the day was.

A - Z Foods ~ The Letter U

The letter U.

Unusual food combinations!

Peanut butter & banana sandwiches. Spaghetti pasta covered in salad dressing. Coffee & salt. Canned tuna & salsa rolled in a tortilla and nuked in the microwave. Tomatoes & sugar. Pears & Mayonnaise topped with sharp cheddar. Yikes there are so many weird combinations! What foods do you combine for an odd snack or meal?

Happy A to Z Monday to you!

Shadow Shot Sunday ~ #19 ~ Men at Work

Poor Patrick had to move those blocks 4 times that day. What a guy!
These piers are being done exactly right. Rich is a perfectionist.
These are the lousy old footings --- Just 5 years old. Nice huh?
We have a big project going on at our cabin this year. Rich Brown Concrete has poured 12 deck piers/footing for new log posts which another contractor has installed. The original footing was done in a shoddy manor by another person so all had to be dug out and redone properly. Rich is also going to pour a patio out from our walkout basement and is putting up a small retaining wall on either side. When Patrick was home he borrowed our friend's trailer & picked up some blocks for the retaining wall. (We still need to get another 50 blocks.) These are a few Shadow Shots from the ongoing project.
For more Shadow Shots please visit Hey Harriet here. Hope you're all having a good weekend. Blessings to each one who stops this way.

A to Z Monday ~ The Letter T

The letter T could be so many things, but for me it is Tortellini with cheese filling. This is my last box, so I wish I could remember where I bought this stuff!! Ah well, I am thinking of improving my diet so I can loose about 30#, so I probably don't need to have all this yummy, carb filled food around. The lovely Miss Baby Rocket Dog pointed out that I also enjoy some Tazo tea on occasion. (Thanks Baby.) I remember a few years back when chai tea became the "in" thing to drink. Since I have a background in the Russian language I found it weird that the tea was called chai, since in Russian chai means tea. But I digress. For more A - Z foodies, please go visit our hostess, Jen HERE. Blessings on all who pass this way!
