Shadow Shot Sunday #123

Took all these shots while in Massachusetts. Patrick drove under this lovely, old railroad bridge, then pulled off the road so I could get a few shots. I have no idea who the grave markers pay tribute to, but liked the way the shadows played on them. The top marker, made from a standing stone, made us chuckle.

Interesting photos, as always. I guess I'm too much of an Alaskan, though: when I saw the pics of the railroad bridge, my first thought was "that's going to come down with the first 'quake!"

Boston and much of Massachusetts has much constructed of stone - to magnificent effect, as you show. The stone bridge is massive, but not overpowering in style, the shadow merely an extension of the stone edifice. Old and classic come to mind!

Lovely...I love those great old stone structures you see back east--they're one of the things I miss living in the west.

I really like your bridge! It appears to have a lot more character and charm than any of the bridges in Brisbane! That's a bridge worthy of a jumbo sausage sizzle with the works! ;D

Hope you have a great week Cassie!

Perhaps another Plymouth rock...I rather like the simplicity of it, truly back to Nature and not so invasive as the others...have a great day!!!

The standing stone marker is really sweet. It makes me wonder what the story is behind it...much more so than the more conventional ones. Lots of lovely shadows:)
