Shadow Shot Sunday ~ #114 ~ My Hanging Gardens

I call these the Hanging Gardens of BlabbyOn!! When my husband started sanding our deck I had to take all my hanging planters down. He hung these up on the woodshed for me and whoa is my Early Girl tomato going gang busters!! She's the one in the middle. You can see from the top photo that I "double use" my water...When the hanging plants get watered my rhubarb and (crumby, little) sunflowers get watered 2nd hand!! I'm thinking that counts as recycling, right Suz?? I can hardly wait to get some nice, fat green tomatoes.
For more Shadow Shots visit our hostess, Tracy, at Hey Harriet.
Blessings on all who pass this way!
love, Cassie ~ aka BlabbyOn

The plants underneath the tomatoes are not crummy, but beautiful (even if little). We are able to eat some of our potted tomatoes (the 100s are ripening sooner), the sweet summer fruit awaited all year!

Nice shadows but it's the plants I'm loving. It's nice to see that these are actually very successful planters as seen in someone backyard, not just on an advertiser. I'll need to check these out.

Thank you for your prayers for the deputies, Cassie. Hard time ahead but I trust in God to see us through.

I've never seen tomatoes grown like that. Cool! And your recycling of the garden water is a fantastic idea! I must see if I can rig something like that up in my garden! Awesome ideas and awesome shadows :)

I've seen adverts for those upside growing thingies - good to see that they actually work! Enjoy your tomatoes (and clever to water 2 in 1 go!!)

Nice shots. The tomato plants looks great. I have often wondered how well the topsy turvy things would work. Yours seem to be doing pretty well, and leaing some nice shadows to boot. Thanks for sharing.

Cassie - this is a lovely blog! Thank you for directing me to it, and I am now following you!

We have no ripe tomatoes, there has not been enough warmth - although the weather has been dry and good, just not enough warmth to make those toms red!

i will follow from now on!

How do you make these up side down planters? Do you make holes at the side near the bottom and put the tomato seedlings? Very very clever.

Shall love to see photos of them laden with fruit.

Are we doing anymore food challenges? I really enjoyed them, and it was a pity, I joined towards the end.

I join a meme called ABC, but it is for anything.
