The reason I have 3 photos of Hootie in our bay window is because I want to show off the cover I made for the window seat. (Also, isn't he cute??) I have a sewing machine that we bought at a yard sale 3 years ago, and supposedly it's a good one. Only thing is I took it in to be adjusted ($$$!!) and it was good for a few items I sewed, then I messed around with the tension and screwed it up again. Phooey. So, this window seat cover is all hand sewn. I really liked the pattern of the upholstery material. So back-woodsy. My fingers are sore from pushing the needle through, but I'm quite pleased with the results. The new project I mention in the title of this post is the deck. What a mess it has become. The heavy winter snow the past few years have eaten all the stain off of it. We might try a different path to fix it this summer. Maybe a weathered look...
Tomorrow is my 4th Kootenai River Run. I'm not in near as good shape as I have been previously. I'll let you know how that goes. My buddy Candace will be joining me, and I think another gal, Linda and they are both fit. Sooooo we'll see. The weather forecaster said it's going to rain in the mountains so I'm not sure what kind of weather we'll have. I don't want to melt in the rain!
Bye for now. May the Lord bless and keep all my blog buddies.
love, Cassie

Cassie - nice pics. Hootie looks very comfy!
I think the deck has achieved the "weathered look" on its own ...
What a GREAT view and a FABULOUS seat cover. Very fitting for the surroundings and the view.
I'm impressed..you sewed that by hand! I would have never had the patience! I guess good things come to those that wait!
Happy Friday!
Hootie looks so happy and content there!!
Just keep fooling with the tension on that sewing machine - you can't make it any worse. It might just have a thread hung in it too - take an old sliver of cloth and try to wipe it out. My mother is famous for putting the needle in backwards - that really screws with the tension too!!!
Hope you get it working again - mom always says a person has to be a mechanic to keep a sewing machine working. It is a real pleasure when it's doing things right, but it sure can be an aggravation when it's not.
Take care and enjoy life - it looks like it's so pleasant at your cabin.
Hugs,
Lynn
that dog is soooo handsome
I love that photo!!!
I love your window seat...apparently so does Hootie. Looks like a great spot for watching in comfort.
Good luck with your river run.....2 fit girls and ONE almost as fit...you should be fine. You will be more fit after too. ;)
I don't know which I love the most, Hootie or the window seat. I want to visit and sleep right there so I can see those beautiful trees all night, with loads of stars of course....I will share the window cushion with Hootie.
I love window seats. We have some bay windows in our house but no seating in them. The view from your window is lovely.
Of course Hootie looks gorgeous hehe.

I like window seats and your selection of fabric is perfect! Although I'm not a 'dog person', Hootie is a hoot!
Hootie looks so grown up in that first picture. He IS cute!
Have fun paddeling.
I love window seats. Always wished I had one but never did. The cover you made looks great! Hootie certainly seems to be enjoying it too. :D
I hope the River Run went well.
Hugs to you from Daisy.
Hello there!
Thank you for stopping by my mama's blog when we had to say goodbye to my Golden brother Achilles. I miss him lots. He's in doggie heaven, but I wish he were here with me again.
I really like the pictures of Hootie by the window. Great shots!!! See you soon!
