Shadow Shot Sunday

The top photo is my choice for my Shadow Shot Sunday pic. I took these last Sunday at a rest stop about half way between Prescott and Phoenix called Sunset Point. It was too early in the day for the sun to be setting, but I really liked the way the shadows appeared in the folds of the land.

Have a great weekend.

The shadows tone down these beautiful vistas. The bright sun makes the landscape bright, the hills and mesas have a rich textural shadows. The wide open spaces in this mountainous desert are a sight to behold, sweeping in a way we cannot see in New England. Wonderful views!

Is Sunset Point still open as a rest stop? It seems as though the state government has closed every other rest stop in Arizona, which forces drivers to have excellent bladder control--or wear Depends!

Neat shots. Arizona sounds very attractive right now. When I first came to Idaho, I couldn't see any reason to go south in the winter. Now, 35 or so years later, it seems like good sense!
Thanks for coming by!

Ooooo, wow, it's like you brought bits of home to me:) I'm originally from TN, grew up on a mountain, here in our part of VA there is not a mountain in sight! Great shadows & clear shots!!! Thank you so much for your comment and sorry for my delay, boys have kept me busy, the oldest has gone back to school, YAY! Now I'm just waiting on all the snow to melt:) Happy (belated) SSS!
