A to Z Mondays ~ The Letter S

Saxophone

I played the E flat alto Saxophone from the 3rd grade through my Senior year in high School. My Sister, Harley and my father and his Sister, Auntie Vi also all played the Saxophone. Auntie Vi was Super beautiful and was first runner up in the Miss Pennsylvania Pageant many years ago. Her talent for the contest was playing the Saxophone. I would have preferred playing the flute or clarinet, but was probably made to learn the Saxophone because my family owned Several.

Sooooo I was Sassy Cassie the Silly Saxophonist!

For more A to Z Mondays Skip on over to Jen's blog.

See you Soon! Sayonara, Cassie

That's a great S word. I envy anyone who played an instrument. Sounds like you come from a very musical family

Cassie, I'll bet you made SWEET music for the ears. I applaud you for sticking with it for so long. Do you play any now?

That's an original family tradition, but a good one! Do you still play?

haha! my hubby & my sister both played the sax... we tried to talk our daughter into it, but she would have none of it... and she now plays the clarinet :)

Oh Cassie... I played the Clarinet and my good friend played the Sax (just like yours).. Our small town was known for our great band. We'd go to marching contests and to symphonic band contests. We'd always win.

Our band director was a woman--and was she GREAT!!!!! She was probably the only woman band director in the country at that time. She won all kinds of awards and honors herself...

Thanks for the memories (using your "S" word)...
Hugs,
Betsy

I played the clarinet when I was young but I wanted to play the sax but that was squashed when a clarinet came along at the right price. I still have it but haven't played it in years.

Nice Selection - I always wanted to play the saxophone. I suspect they are hard to play well, easy to make squawking sounds that would attract strange birds.

I vote for a YouTube video clip of Sassie Cassie playing her Silver-Toned Sax!
