Shadow Shot Sunday #162 ~ Seussicle Jr. ~ The Musical

I attended a production of Seussical Jr. put on by our local youth choir.  Though I didn't really know any of the children in this musical, it was still lots of fun.  I've enjoyed Dr. Seuss stories since I was a little kid and I think Seussical Jr. did Theodor Seuss Geisel's memory justice.  The venue for this song and dance fest was our city's new little theatre, The Oyster.  It is an old church (built in 1893) that is in the process of being turned into a theatre and coffee house.  When it is renovated it will be known as The Pearl!

For more Shadow Shots please dance on over (& maybe even sing!) to our hostess Tracy's blog, Hey Harriet.  Have a great weekend.

love, Cassie

Looks like a great deal of fun! The Pearl is a great name! It's always a little sad when old churches get changed into something else though.

Ha! You were smart to capture those wonderful shadows. Someone was clever to transform the old church into a theatre and coffee house! I like the idea of recycling buildings rather than tearing old ones down to build new ones.

This amateur production created a lot of shadows for your camera. It is always fun to see young people perform. Our son was in many productions in high school and college.

Our kids were in theater camps and such when they were younger - and they so enjoyed them! Seuss and children is so wonderful when you start by reading to them (I am partial to Hop on Pop :) and then they begin to read in rhyme.

The Pearl is an outstanding endeavor! Children love to learn and focus, working hard to make the production look so polished. A wonderful post and place!

Oh sweet....I like Dr. Suess too, but it was reading them to my kids [yes, I'm that old] ---heck, I read them for MY pleasure more so I think. LOL And, this would've been fun to attend for me. What a great set of photos shared.

It was nice to visit with you today....If you'd care to drop by and say hi, I'm leaving my Sunday's Link for you---HERE

Have a glorious week ahead.

Good shadow shots on the wall behind the thespians. The project to renovate the old church sounds good. Small town theater and arts is great for the community. I especially like the names. The Oyster turning into the pearl. My daughter's name is Maggie, (Margaret), translated into The Pearl. So, I like the name a lot. I'll have to stop in for a cup of java on the next road trip out West on US Hwy 2.

Peace

Hi Cassie! Hope you're doing well.
Your little theatre looks like fun. Local youth theatre is always fun. My son used to run lights/sound in the high school productions. It's amazing what talent the young ones have.
