Shadow Shot Sunday #139 ~ On The Road To Arizona

This is my favorite shot! I took it from the passenger seat on I-90 in Western Montana.
Had no idea that taking it through a Windshield Sunscreen Tint Strip would produce this result.
I-15 driving toward Salt Lake City affords this stunning view of the Wasatch Mtns.
Montana ranch on I-90.
Snow fence in Montana from I-90. Montana, the beautiful Big Sky state.
This was the scene for a great deal of the drive on I-90 through Montana's ranch land.
Some Utah snow from I-15.
These hills were in southern Utah I think.
These redrocks were found heading toward Hoover Dam. The new bridge is up now, so the Dam was no longer in sight from the highway.
These two (top & bottom) were taken south of Kingman, AZ.
These are a mish-mash of Shadow Shots taken on the road from the Panhandle of North Idaho to Phoenix, Arizona (in no particular order).

Usually I'd say "For more Shadow Shots from around the world visit our Australian hostess, Tracy, at her blog Hey Harriet"...But, since Queensland is being hit hard with the La NiƱa flooding I'm not sure if she'll be posting this week. The last time I checked in on her she and her family were still safe, but things could change. Please keep her and our Australian comrades in your thoughts and prayers during this time of natural disaster. Please God, bless all who pass this way. love, Cassie

I like all of these pictures, but I must say that the first one is the coolest one I've seen in a long time! Hope you are doing well.

That first photo reminds me of some pictures I took in the '70s, and then sent through airline's X-ray machine. All the pics on that roll of film came out tinted in shades of green like that.

NICE pictures.

Love the effect in the first one! I also loved all your photos of Montana as that's where I raised my family and they brought back such lovely memories of our snowy, beautiful winters and it's awesome "Big Sky"! Hope you have a wonderful weekend!

There is such a spacious feeling out west that we in congested southern CT. I-95 is full of traffic, always...

Your trek on I-90 to I-15 (I guess) is full of mountains and snow, the 'Big Sky' country so lovely. I recently read about the new upriver bridge around the dam. Moving the traffic off the dam must be the idea. The shame to me is that there is no interstate road from PHX to Vegas. Although a two-lane road looks like a more romantic drive...

Yes Ralph, we were kissin' and huggin' that whole way!! hehe.

It's been a crazy week here in Queensland, but seeing all these lovely photos makes things a little brighter!
Have a great week.

How cool is that first shot Cassie, I love it! And all that snow, just beautiful. I can't wait for winter to roll around again, hopefully it will bring more snow to our little part of the world again. Happy SSS Cassie :)

well Cassie, thanks for the road trip. that first shot is really freaky beautiful. don't you love when something so unexpected happens that turns out to be rather awesome? I've been to Montana but never Utah and your photos have furthered the itch. It looks like you had blue skies the whole way. these are some fantastic shots. and that breakfast casserole looks really yummy.

What a nice way to go on a 'trip' via this series of shots! Why, I don't feel fatigues at all! Had no idea too, that the widow shade would give such a spectacular result!

We were at the dam two years ago while they were still constructing the bridge....what a project! Loved seeing the dam while we were there - it's amazing! Love your first picture...those mountains look awesome! Enjoy your weekend Cassie!

Hi Cassie! Thanks for stopping by my blog. I can see why you like Anne's blog. You have some beautiful pictures too! Your pictures remind me of so many trips my husband and I used to make across the western U.S. going from CA to NE to visit family. As our kids got older and time was tighter, we've usually flown. We're thinking of a trip this summer though, and your pics reminded me that it can be fun!

Ha! Surprise! I'm still here! Ok, I know you discovered that already but I just like yelling 'SURPRISE!'

Beautiful photos Cassie! The tint strip thingies did produce some cool looking results. Very pop artish. I think Andy Warhol would be rather proud :)

Have a great week Cassie!

I'm so glad you posted pictures of your journey, it's always such a pleasure to see the West again, I miss it big time!!!

I've always believed the bee die-off was due to pesticides. When you see the crop dusters still flying today in Iowa and see them spraying on windy days, you know there will be backlash from all the toxins that the Environmental Protection Agency, whatever, so keenly turns an eye in the favor of the chemical companies, Bayer in this instance.

Will we ever learn??? Have a great trip!!!

Thank you for stopping by my blog. The photographs are great. Good old Montana, the ruggedness of it is beautiful. We have mountains (that what they call them here they are really hills compared to the Rockies) and snow here in Maryland!

You have some really nice shadows in your photos! I espcially like the snow fence shadow and one with the snow on the mountains.
