Shadow Shot Sunday #133 ~ Snow on the Roof

Oh my we have had a ton of snow. Our metal roof lets the snow set on it until it gets too heavy, then the avalanche begins. This is a view from our loft window. I think I got a few shadows in there!

Cold, snowy but beautiful -- if you don't have to be out in it! And it does make for lovely shadow shots! And yours are wonderful! Hope you weekend is going well! Stay warm, Cassie!

I see you've got lots and lots of snow up there in northern Idaho!

Metal roofs and snow can be fun..or scarry. When that snow load starts creaking and sliding you worry that the entire roof will come crashing down. But at least, when it does slide off, you don't have to go up there and shovel it off!

Oh my, you guys have so much snow already, love those icicles!

My SSS is Santa Ski Slope shadows!

Shadows are everywhere! Snow can be beautiful, the brilliant white creating fantastic shadows, especially after it falls into the mini-Alps outside the window. My power wheelchair doesn't agree with snow more than 1/2" - yet as long as I am inside, it can snow as much as it wants...

But you will be back in PHX soon, and the snow will be a distant memory...

That avalanche looks scary.
I can't believe how much snow you have....we were in shorts today putting up Christmas lights. :)

WOW! I've only recently seen snow for the first time but it was nothing like this! That's amazing, must be so cold too. Oh how I'd love to have just one white Christmas in my lifetime.

Great shots Cassie.

Great shadow shots, Cassie! That looks like a LOT of snow! Could you send us about 4 or 5 inches of it, just enough to cover Mississippi on Christmas day?? Only in the fifties here today;-)

Looks like you have had a little more than we have...but not much more! I've been out taking pics, and in taking pics through the windows (even tho they're not overly clean!) I just haven't posted any with shadows this week.
Hope you're enjoying winter!

Oh wow! That's a whole lot of snow you have there Cassie! Yikes! I'm wondering how on earth you manage to keep warm in that kind of weather. A very good heating system I guess. And lots of cuddling! :D

The Farmer's Almanac tells me that our area will have little snow, but extreme cold...I want to believe!!!

Been up all night with a terrier with hives..geesh, that's a new one on me, perhaps she's allergic to winter too...

I too have a metal roof and have personally had the avalanches bury me an Scratchy when we open the door...brrr!!!

Try to stay warm!

ok, you win - you have far more snow than us ..... although Malcolm was starting to worry about the weight on our roof, as our houses aren't designed with that much snow in mind!

WOW! No offense, but better you than me... LOL... I hate snow.

od dear, this seems to be even more than we had. Sliding down like that. Could be dangerous.

Even though it's right outside your window, can you believe that you've had this much snow already? It's not even mid December! Aiyee!! But, it is gorgeous.

I love your first two pictures. The icicles pointing toward your windows looks like the claws of a big snow monster trying to get in! How do your furry children like the snow?

Wow, that's so pretty, but oh man it looks crazy cold! We're just starting winter here in NY. It's been a very long time since I've lived in a city that gets a real winter, I'm readjusting!

Here in NC, it's rare that we ever get to see thick snow and ice--unless it's in photos! Thanks for sharing. Stay warm!

WHAT is all that WHITE STUFF? Nice pictures, subject matter aside (ha ha). We have been spared all but a dusting so far, but it's coming, no doubt (and I liked "Catch the Wind" too - great folkie song!)
