Shadow Shot Sunday ~ #116 ~ Around The Cabin

This series of 3 photos was taken as I laid on our bed in the loft. Finally figured out how to turn off the flash. You can see my tootsies on the pillow in the second one. He he.
Here Hootie points out a thin shadow.
These Coues Deer antlers came from Arizona. (Pronounced "cows", but almost everyone pronounces it "coos".)
We call our place Smiling Moose Point. I collect different moosely items for that reason.
Our deck is 3-sided and Patrick sanded it down by hand last month...What a job! Our son-in-law is coming over from Seattle next week to stain it. Of course the daughter will accompany him. Yippee!! Haven't seen her since December so can hardly wait.
This shadow falls on the dreaded pile of dirt. That pile has been there for 5 years now and I can't stand it! When our dogs go outside and start their crazy-terrier-zoomies they run up on that pile and cause a terrible dust cloud. I think my hubby is going to (finally) move it when he gets here next. He plans on filling in dirt behind the new retaining walls so I'm hoping the removal of this dirt pile is part of that plan.
Did I mention that I am something of a hermit?
I took all of these shots in and around our cabin. Shadows just kept showing themselves to me!

There are a bunch of us, from all around the world, who have joined Miss Tracy in posting our Shadow Shots. Tracy is in Australia so her Sunday is my Saturday, & that explains why my posts (generally) show up on Saturday morning. If you'd like to join us, or just want to enjoy other Shadow Shots, go on over to Tracy's blog. Just click HERE. I hope your weekend is going great. Blessings to anyone who stumbles upon this blog!

love, Cassie

Hi Cassie, Oh, I really enjoyed this post. What a beautiful cabin and setting and such soft shadows. Hootie is so cute! Love the "Go Away" sigh - John and I saw a pack of "we've moved" postcards! (in other words, there was no forwarding address - just "we've moved!" ha
Love your moose collectibles. I have a stuffed animal moose that put under the Christmas tree each year whose name tag says "Mildred Moose!" Thanks for sharing part of your world today.

Great shots, Cassie! Isn't it funny how you notice shadows everywhere, now that you do these posts. Before you probably didn't notice them at all. Have a good weekend! :D

I love this set, especially the curtain shadows and the antlers. Looks like a great cabin.

Your cabin is lovely, more rustic which is fitting in your wooded town. The deck is the place to relax at the end of a long day, with the pines leaving a late afternoon shadow. The deck is beautiful, unfinished or not. Hootie is quite observant!

I love seeing in and around your cabin. Your loft bed looks comfy...I am sure we could have a slumber party when Patrick is away. :)

A fabulous collection of photos. I love your pile of dirt - I hope it gets moved soon (but you might miss it!!) If I had a wonderful cabin like yours I would have a 'go away' sign too, so that I would be left in peace and quiet to enjoy it!

Lovely assortment of shadows!! I love the first two, they look a little spooky. And the ones of the deck look very inviting. Thanks for stopping by my blog. Oh, and Pachelbel's canon was played at my husband's and I's wedding 11 years ago as well. I walked down the isle to it. ;-) I do so love that song! Have a great weekend!

What marvelous shadow shots, Cassie! Some have a mysterious look and others look so inviting -- as another commenter has noted. They're all delightful! Does look like a fun place! Enjoy your weekend!

Oh, my gosh!! What a bounty of shadows! I feel like I've been to an 'all you can eat' shadow shot fest! And, the ones from the bed in the loft are exquisite. I would be up there finding an excuse to nap whenever possible.
Left to my own devices, I would be a total recluse, so I get the 'hermit' part.

What a great post. I love the Go Away sign. Your surroundings look lovely, even the dirt pile. We all have those, "works in progress". all of the shadows are great, but my favorites are the ones from the bedroom. Thanks for sharing.

I love the filtered light through the curtains and I must say, your cabin looks lovely from what you have showed us of it here! That pile of dirt sounds like a lot of hard work coming up though so good luck with that!

Oh Cassie Your cabin is gorgeous I would love to hide away there and only emerge on occasion. If life would let me I would be a hermit to.

I have a bed just like that...though I'm missing the cabin...but I lived in one in the mountains of Colorado back in the 70's, those were the days, I miss them bunches.

What a sweet shot of Hootie, love the name...us terrier lovers know what it means to REALLY own a free spirit! Can't wait to see the new show 'TERRIERS' on cable, I think it's the History Channel, but not sure.

Have a great week ahead!
