Shadow Shot Sunday ~ #10 ~ Moose In The Shadows

This is our resident moose in Idaho.

She comes in out of the shadowy forest to drive our dogs bonkers!

For more Shadow Shots mosey on over to Tracy's Hey Harriet blog. Have a great weekend.

Great pictures, Cassie! How cool is that? I've never seen a moose in person. Happy weekend to you, my friend! :)

As the token Alaskan among your commenters (as far as I know), a couple of points: the spindly legs enable them to walk through very deep snow, and I was thinking "what a skinny yearling" until you said she's been around for awhile. Our moose are heavier; maybe it's the colder climate? Don't know ... but your pics are nice!

Nice pictures of the moose! This is 'one ugly animal'! I'd be excited if I got to see one, though! Happy Weekend!

Wonderful, wonderful pictures..The shadows are great, but the moose wins..I had a young one go in front of my car once..Thank heavens I was going slow and could stop.
Happy SSS.

The sunlight and shadows fall upon the woods and meadow. The moose, what a stately animal, with perhaps a less sunny attitude than we, and the dog, prefer. But he is bigger than all of us combined, so we put up with his intrusion while admiring his looks...

I'll bet those dogs just go crazy! What a tease! And, what a great shot. Their front legs seem soooo long in relation to the rest of their body.

Resident moose...what a hoot...I once awoke to a bear in my trash when I lived in Colorado...not a hoot...scary!

Wow! That's amazing! Moose are very different creatures, aren't they? I always sort of asume they are like deer or horses or something but they are not at all similar! Look at those long legs and the muzle ! Incredible photos - thank you!

Looks like a youngster to me, too.
Hope you get back soon! The spring is advancing apace!

Oh Cassie, I have never seen a moose and to have one so near your home is amazing! I have heard they are quite large.

Love the shadowy forest shots!

Wow, I've never seen a moose either, Cassie. Great captures of his visit.

Pretty shadows of sunlight streaming through the trees.

How lucky you are to see that amazing creature! We kept our eyes open for moose on a camping trip in New York, but never saw a one.

Thanks for your comment on mine! I hadn't thought of Miss Havisham in ages, but I think I will now every time I look at that old vase. LOL It's way beyond neglected and forgotten - there's no silver left on the thing.

Wonderful series of photos! Love seeing the moose from different perspectives! And the play of shadows shows just how well a moose can hide!

A wonderful series of photos showing Moose emerging through the green. A very handsome looking animal. If it drives the dogs bonkers, does it flee when they
bark, I wonder.

Wow, Cassie, who could top that?
