Shadow Shot Sunday #186 ~ Utah Night Sky & The Cabin

I took the top photo on our drive through Utah enroute to Phoenix.  The red sunset was shot as Patrick was driving a bit below the speed limit on I-15.  The bottom shot is from our loft, looking into the living room at the cabin.  I already miss the cabin...Already I have the start of my annual Arizona sinus infection.  The weather here is beautiful. Unfortunately I am highly allergic to all the outside dust, plants and smuts!  (What the heck is a smut?!)  Ahhhh well.   For more Shadow Shots, please travel over to our Australian hostess Tracy's blog HERE.  Have a peaceful weekend.
love,
Cassie

I think that a 'smut' is the same thing as a 'mote', which is a bit smaller than the 'beam' in your neighbor's eye.

What GREAT shots!

Thanks for sharing them!

Enjoy 'The Blast Furnace' now that it isn't quite THAT!

I love the shot looking down into your living room. I hope you can something to ease your sinus infection - a most unpleasant thing!

The cabin looks homey and inviting. With a fire going, it feels like a fine place to hibernate. Well, there is no hibernating on the Sonora desert floor, the warm days will be exhilarating - as long as your sinuses aren't acting up! Utah looks so beautiful, the perfect sunset at the end of a hopefully perfect driving day!

That is a lovely sunset.
I certainly understand missing your cabin. Ours is in the Sierra at 9600' so we leave it in October and don't return until about Memorial Day (depending on the snow year).

I don't know how you can bear to leave that amazing cabin. It looks like a perfect, cozy place.

Oh how I miss the weather in Phoenix! It's cold and damp here in the UK and that causes me to get a sinus infection, and yet when I get in the warm sun I feel so much better!

We need to swap places!

Hi Cassie, I was wondering before I checked your blog whether you were going to spend Christmas in Idaho... Guess not!!!!! Sigh!

Guess the winter up there is rough... Do you wait til spring to go back??? I know you love it up there...

Merry Christmas to you two.
Hugs,
Betsy

Looks like it was a gorgeous drive (I gather it wasn't during the snow storm). Beautiful sunset and I can see why you miss the cabin.

If no one picks up hosting SSS, I will still post my shadows as I have done for so many years. I do have an 'email subscribe' on my blog, so if you want automatic notification of my SSS posts, sign up for that. I don't post everyday, usually twice a week. If you visit me, I will surely visit you (but we have to leave comments so that we know we were by).

The cabin looks cozy - I can see why you miss it.

A smut?? That's a new one on me! Maybe another term for molds?

Oh boy....that area of the United States ALWAYS has spectacular scenes with the sunsets and sunrises. Absolutely beautiful. And the cabin's interior is something I'd enjoy. Gimme a great book so I can curl up and be taken away....

Oh I'd be missing the cabin too! Smuts? New to me!

Thanks for your kind words on my blog and you'll be happy to know that a little team is in place to take over the hosting of SSS. Yay! I'll share the details on my blog next week. I can certainly say that they're organised and keen as they've set up a SSS blog already! I'm very happy about this and can now look forward to joining in SSS as a participant in the future. It will be fun, as I can still keep in touch that way :)
