Shadow Shot Sunday #159 ~ From The Eagle Valley Amish Auction

These are a few of the log structures that were on the auction block a few weeks ago.  Meadowlark Log Homes is  the Amish owned company that makes them.  They made our cabin, so I am partial to their type of building.  Their customer service is tops!

For more Shadow Shots or to join in this fun meme, go visit our hostess in Australia, Tracy, at Hey Harriet.  Hope you all are having a good weekend.  Blessings to all who pass this way.

love, Cassie

Sorry Cassie, family stuff down south has kept me away from the blogs, I have a great deal to catch up with. I love the cabins, particularly love the scent of wood you get inside them. The shadow shot is very intriguing too. Especially the very first one.

Take care, and I hope your rhubarb is not still mutating LOL

Sturdy log structures always fascinate me!

(The beach is right outside my door here in Hawaii, but the cemetery was an adventurous drive!)

BE MY COMPANION

Come here, my shadow,
Do not delay;
Be my companion,
Show me the way;
Teach me your secrets,
Chant as we go
Of light and darkness—
Make my heart glow!

Wonderful structures, and they do make strong, graphic shadows.

Have a great weekend!

Wonderful - I immediately thought of Seven Brides for Seven Brothers (one of my all time favoutite films!!)

These rough hewn cabins are so old school - which is why they are so lovely! Instead of lumber cut by a computer controlled saw, these logs were stripped of bark by hand, the honest old way with axes and chisels. The Amish way, built by hand alone. Stunning, the frames built to last in the cold Idaho winters. Nice, and refreshingly, not modern!

Love the shadows but even more the log homes. How absolutely wonderful.

They sure made for some very interesting and dramatic shadow shots!

Wonderful crisp and dark shadows!

Cool shadow shots, Cassie! The first one, if turned upside down, reminds me a little of three crosses on the hill!

I love the look of those log structures and wish I had a cute little log cabin! It's beautiful work! I hope you're enjoying the weekend so far Cassie :)

It's great this kind of work is still done. Modern buildings are not going to be as strong and well built as 'hand made', traditional way built...
Have a good week ahead!

Cassie girl I love your shots ! especially wood structures as opposed to metal .. wood seems to be alive some how. I am sure your combo with water and seed (albeit they are picky eaters .. LOL) will be a great success .. just be patient .. and if not this year .. next year .. birds are finicky creatures ! LOL

I love this post....I've always been so very interested [and a lot of times jealous] of the Amish lifestyle! Wonderful photos.

Thanks for your comments on my Sunday post...

Winter Past is my link to Macro Monday. Do stop by, again, when you get a chance. I'd love your company. Have a great week.

Hey Cassie,

Am just getting back after being out for nearly 2 weeks.

Will formally get caught up later, just wanted to pop over and let you know that I was wondering about the pkg.

Didn't want you to think I was ungrateful or anything and never emailed you that I appreciated it....

Thanks,
Ramona
