More Pictures From Our 1,500 Mile Roadtrip

The trees in N. Idaho were just SO heavy with snow. They would have had more, but it had warmed up above freezing one day last week and rained the original snow off the branches.
This shot was taken just outside of Coeur d'Alene, ID heading toward the 4th of July Pass. There are 3 long Passes you go through to get to Missoula and the Idaho portion of Highway 90 was clear compared to the Montana portion! I guess that's what happens when you don't charge sales tax?
This is a still pic of the Black Angus of Dillon. The video shows how long the line was much better than this.

I shot this video of Black Angus cows just north of Dillon, Montana.(It gave Patrick a break from my backseat driving;<) At around noon there is some siren song that calls these cows to walk northward in an almost perfect straight line. We have witnessed this several times (in the same spot) over the years. I'm not a cowgirl, so don't know if this is normal behavior, but it sure intrigued me. Sorry about the rumbling sound, it's road noise 'cuz I had my window rolled down. I couldn't zoom in on it or I would have lost the length of the line.

Signing off for now. I want to go read some of your blogs b4 I go to sleep. God bless you and keep you safe over the weekend my bloggy buddies! love, Cassie

Ice Like Glass On Highway 90

This was the highway between Missoula, Montana and Butte, MT. on January 3rd. Patrick did an ace job driving! Our little Subaru wagon did good too. Praise the Lord for our safe trip.

AND More Snow!

We are in Missoula now & our trip did not start out too great. 2009 better start getting better. Patrick forgot to lock the bubble on top of the car & after about 40 miles of driving a kind driver pointed to it and Pat pulled off the road. The bubble was wide open and the computer case was no longer with us, as was the case with several of my reusable grocery bags. Patrick had put the case up there stuffed full of cd's and other computer paraphernalia (who knows what?) so he turned around and we retracked our drive. Never found the computer bag....did get the other cheapy bags though. That wasted at least 2 hours. Anyway, he drove until after 1030pm, which we never do, but he wanted to make up for lost time. LOTS of ice and snow packed highway and also off and on snow showers. Slow going. Spent the night here at the Red Lion in Missoula. Okay, decent nights sleep, but awoke to a flood on the bathroom floor. Toilet overflowed. We just paid full price for the room, but the clerk said she would check with the manager about refunding some of the cost. Oh brother. Soooo friends, could you please send up a few prayers for us on our journey. Things haven't started out too great. At least we have our health!! Blessings. love, Cassie PS-The dogs have been good.
