It's time for our Shadow Shots once again. I decided to pick a theme this week, so delved into my photo archives for all the chair shadows I could find. Even the dullest appearing chair or seating arrangement can cast an interesting shadow it seems. The bottom photo was actually taken automatically by my husband's game-cam which I had placed on the floor at the cabin. I have several interesting shots that were taken that way...All of the dogs in various poses, initiating the automatic shutter. This week Miss Gemma is our hostess with the mostess. Patrick has had his eye on this saguaro cactus for a while now. He is fascinated at how it seems to be growing out of the rock outcropping. He got these shots when our daughter and SIL were here. I'm guessing the artist in Patrick and the ham in David helped concoct this middle photo.

Last Tuesday evening we went to the Phoenix Zoo ZooLights with our daughter, SIL,David, and his two sister's families. David's eldest sister and her husband both work at the Zoo. In fact, David's brother in law is the designer for ZooLights. It was fabulous! If you look closely, you can spy some shadows there.

Merry Christmas to all the Shadow Shooters and our guests! I thought I'd show you around our condo living room while I was awaiting the arrival of our daughter and SIL from the airport (at 130am!). I had the Christmas music playing and all the candles and trees lit. No flash was used on these shots, so they are a bit out of focus.

I took the top photo on our drive through Utah enroute to Phoenix. The red sunset was shot as Patrick was driving a bit below the speed limit on I-15. The bottom shot is from our loft, looking into the living room at the cabin. I already miss the cabin...Already I have the start of my annual Arizona sinus infection. The weather here is beautiful. Unfortunately I am highly allergic to all the outside dust, plants and smuts! (What the heck is a smut?!) Ahhhh well. Shadow Shot Sunday #183 ~ At The Cabin

We'll be heading down south soon, so I thought I'd post some shots from our cabin. The top photo is our woods from one of the loft windows. The second photo, of a newly delivered cord of wood, was shot from the the deck. (Patrick has since quartered all that wood!) The 3rd photo is a couple of my snowmen, resting next to our little sofa. Finally, the last shot was taken by my buddy, Maria, when she was visiting in September. Now there is at least a foot of snow covering the ground. I hope to get some shadows resting on the white, fluffy stuff for some parting shots!

We named our place Smiling Moose Point. Guess why! Here is a young cow, not cowering in the shadows. When "our" moose come visiting, Hootie, our little Welsh Terrier, goes nuts. He barks and wants to get outside so badly. Baby Rocket Dog, our Airedale Terrier, is much calmer. Perhaps a bark, then she finds a quiet place to hide.

The other day while in our bedroom I was amazed at all the shadows I saw. Patrick's dresser accumulates all kinds of things that cast cool shadows. He puts up with my ~~junking up his dresser~~ "decorating" for him while he's gone. What a guy! hehe.

I shot both of these shadowy photos of my only grandchildren in 2002. The little, pouty superman at top is now 12 years old. This picture has always been a favorite of mine, probably because he usually always had a smile on his face! The daring, darling PopPop back-walker is now 14 years old and a beautiful young lady. Everyone has aged quite a bit (including my cutie-pie hubby!) since then.

This is a Shadow Shot that I took of my only grandson 6 years ago. He had just turned 6 years old and this was his first trip to Disneyland. Toy Story was his favorite movie at the time, and he carried his cowboy,Woody, around with him just like Andy in the movie. It was a Grammy/Grandson trip and he and I had a blast. We traveled there on a tour bus and spent 2 nights. The night we watched the electric light parade he put his arms around me, squeezed me, and said, "Grammy, this is the best time in my whole, entire life.". I'll never forget the joy in that little fellow's face.

Last Saturday Patrick and I (along with BabyRocketDog and HOotie) went up to Schweitzer Mountain for their Summer Fest. Even though it was now summer, it was C-o-L-D on top of the mountain. We took the chair lift to the summit and there was even still snow on top! When the sun shone through, there were gorgeous shadows of clouds. I got Patrick's shadow pointing to another mountain, and this sweet little white pooch waving hello to me in the village.

Shadow Shot Sunday #162 ~ Seussicle Jr. ~ The Musical

I attended a production of Seussical Jr. put on by our local youth choir. Though I didn't really know any of the children in this musical, it was still lots of fun. I've enjoyed Dr. Seuss stories since I was a little kid and I think Seussical Jr. did Theodor Seuss Geisel's memory justice. The venue for this song and dance fest was our city's new little theatre, The Oyster. It is an old church (built in 1893) that is in the process of being turned into a theatre and coffee house. When it is renovated it will be known as The Pearl!

A Few Of My Container Plantings...

My nasturtium planter. These are edible, so am anxious for it to flower!

Here I have 3 types of lettuce, parsley, onions & a marigold(which supposedly will fend off certain insects). I put a little iron bunny in here too. Can you see him peering over the side of the pot?

This is a little grouping of Rosemary, Lavender and Tumbling Tom Tomato.

These are a few of the things I have planted the past few weeks. I have a lot of pictures of my other containers to regale you with, but I'm posting these particular ones because I dolled up the containers they are in. Notice the raffia, lady bugs and did I say raffia?! I hope LL Cool Joey sees these, as all the bling and decorating that he does inspired me. (Even if in a small, less blingy way!)

Misc. Pics From This Weekend

Both of these were taken at the Amish school auction on Saturday.I spent most of my time either eating or snapping ShadowShots, so not really many "regular" photos. The homemade ice cream was delish!

These fish on poles grace both Libby and Troy, Montana creeks. Aren't they cool? There are also fabulous gigantic metal sculptures of eagles around Libby. I'll try to remember to get some pics of them next time.

I was inspired to put a few different items on our mantelpiece this weekend. The cannibal fisher-fish is a favorite of mine. It's his first time on the mantel, so I decided to give him the featured position. I really enjoy fly fishing. Well, actually, any kind of fishing puts me in 7th heaven.

This week I have been purchasing and planting lots of flowers and veggies in my many containers. I love doing this, but the skin on my hands is a mess. Oh, and I've also picked up a fungus, ringworm, from somewhere. Probably from the ground. Sheesh. Well, at least my pooches haven't caught it. OH, back to my Shadow Shots! My only granddaughter's name is Viola, so I like to have some pretty little violas around every summer. Whenever I look at them I am reminded of her. I like that.

Shadow Shot Sunday #150 ~ Desert Dragon Pottery

These Shadow Shots were all taken at Desert Dragon Pottery. There was (ceramic) dust in the air and all kinds of funky shadows. It was before my 2nd hand camera arrived, so I used Patrick's Nikon. The place was a clutter with pottery waiting to be painted and fired and some completed and some broken. Artists are often quite scattered, so I took advantage of the shadowy set ups presented before me!

Here Patrick and I are cleaning the glaze off the bottom of our pieces. This is done so they won't meld to the floor of the kiln when they are fired. This was actually the last step we did.

These are the two pieces that we dipped in Woo Blue, a high heat glaze. They look red now, but once they are fired again they will be a really pretty blue.

Jade, who instructed us in the glazing process, was very knowledgeable. She's telling Pat that normally you don't want the tongs to hit the pottery like that, but because the opening is so small it can't be helped. So, after he's done dipping he will dab some glaze where it missed.

Here Patrick is dipping one of his pieces in the Woo Blue.

Who knew Woo Blue would start out red before firing? Not me!

Here I am trying my hand at dipping in the Woo Blue. (Gee I like saying that color!)

This is what our pottery looked like after the first firing and before we put the glaze on it. I was very conservative with my wheel work because I was afraid I'd ruin another pot. I used too much pressure on my first one and it flew to pieces and off the wheel! Patrick, on the other hand, seemed like a natural (our wheel instructor, Casey, said he was "golden" ) and his 2 pieces have much more character than mine. Can you guess which ones were made by whom?

Don't know how many of you are familiar with Groupon, but I have become a Groupon addict since returning to Phoenix. I have always loved a deal, and there are some excellent deals with Groupon. Thus far I've gotten:

Anywhooo,we took our pottery class a little over 3 weeks ago. (I was kicking myself that I forgot to take Patrick's camera.) It was so cool. I always wanted to try my hand at the pottery wheel. It is not near as easy as it looks folks. I envisioned making this fabulous creation, and in reality I turned out 2 canned shaped pots! It was lots of fun though and in about a month Patrick will pick up our finished products. If anyone out there is a ceramic artist my hat is off to you.

Last weekend was the "super moon". The night it was to be the brightest Phoenix had cloud cover so we couldn't even see it! Luckily, I took this photo with Patrick's camera the night before. The moon was pretty cool that night and I captured some shadows too.

Sorry I've been so bad about posting lately. I have lots of excuses for being a poor correspondent, taxes, been sick, been tired...none very good. Still no new camera. Believe it or not, I've been checking on the Internet to see if I could find a replacement for my same dear, little point and shoot camera. I keep getting "beat out" by the quick fingers on eBay. Phooey! My daughter has commented that I'm the only one on earth rejecting the newest technology for the old stuff. Hmmmm. I'm thinking maybe she's wrong, as I have just recently been turned on to this really cool website with some amazing oldies but goodies on it!! To Know Him Is To Love Him (I was 8 when this came out and I remember it!), The Old Lamplighter, Let It Be Me, The Wayward Wind, Sealed With A Kiss, Who's Sorry Now!!! Shadow Shot Sunday #145 ~ Papago Park, Phoenix, Arizona

Once again BabyRocketDog & Hootie get to go hunting for shadows with Pat and me.

Look closer...there are people standing in these red rock shadows! I should have moved closer for this shot of my guy and pooches. Now this little fellow could cause some pain. Ouch! The creosote bush casts a fine shadow & smells good too.

These were some of the thinnest bench seats I've ever seen.

No fatties allowed apparently. Okay, we'll move our big butts on!

As we finished up our hike I liked the view of Patrick and the pooches

heading back toward the Phoenix skyline.

All these photos were taken a few days before my camera died on me last Sunday. We attended the PetSmart Petwalk in Tempe, AZ to join our Dales & Friends group. While on the last 1/2 mile of our walk the skies opened up and we were saturated with rain. My camera took it's final photos that day, before drowning. Not sure if I have any other Shadow Shots in my archives now, so will probably have to use Patrick's Nikon, which I don't like much. Phooey.

Please pray for the "Darkhorse Battalion": 3rd Battalion 5th Marines. The name itself is prophetic, and they are facing enough crap in the sandbox that they’ve even made Snopes (http://bit.ly/eGrxvS)!

Pray specifically:

* Pray for protection from bullets and from the 100 lbs IEDs which bad guys are now using to destroy the bulldozers that the Marines are using to remove IEDs.

* Pray for Divine rest; they’re sleeping (some) but not resting, and they do not need a 2-front war!

* Pray the enemy would be struck with confusion, equipment malfunction, mental disorder, cowardice.

* Pray for the advancement of the Kingdom, among both Marines and locals. (Please feel free to share this.)

Happy Valentine's Day!

Just a few photos that make my heart sing! The top is a file photo I got on the internet a few years ago. Thought it was cool. The next was a little surprise Patrick had for me at our hotel room at the Wyndham Gardens in Prescott last night. He bought that heart and had it outside our house to surprise me about 10 years ago. I forgot all about it, but that romantic soul didn't. After arriving in Prescott we took the dogs on a nice hike around our hotel area...it was amazingly unpopulated and had lots of good smells for them to follow. lol. Pat also made reservations at "our place", Murphy's, and we had a lovely dinner. I had the Blackened Sea Bass and Patrick had his usual, Prime Rib. It was terrific, and especially nice because it was 2/13 so not crowded! Afterwards we changed into more comfy clothes and had a nice glass of wine in the hotel lounge. Today after breakfast at the hotel we went back to sleep for a few hours then packed up our Jeep and the dogs and went on a nice long hike in the Prescott National Forest. Even found a little snow on the ground. (Starting Thursday they're supposed to get snow for 4 days...Too bad we missed that.) We had a small lunch at AppleBee's, then to finish off an already wonderful 2 days, we got to visit with our 2 grandchildren. We brought them various little Valentine treats and it was so great to see them both again. Though our granddaughter is almost 14 and g-son 12, they are both really polite and just so lovable. (Okay, they are my grandkids!)

Oh almost forgot. The next photo is of Patrick and me in the hotel lobby. The next 2 are pics he sent me while I was up in Idaho and he was down in Phx. He has that silly heart that I got as a kid at a carnival hanging next to his computer at his work. The bottom photo is an aerial shot of our cabin in Idaho. He can be very romantic at times. That's nice, because I like that kind of thing, and I tend to be less romantic so need some encouragement!

Anyway, we're on our way home to Phoenix now and what a fine time this was. I hope you all have a wonderful Valentine's Day too. love, Cassie

Was listening to Dennis Prager's radio show this morning and there was a special guest on: Ed Ames. It was refreshing to hear a celebrity from Hollyweird talking conservative values. The man still has that fabulous deep voice that he had many years ago while singing with the Ames Brothers and later, on his own. I remember several of his songs from when I was young, among them Try To Remember, Mariah, I Believe, My Cup Runneth Over With Love , Who Will Answer, Mary In The Morning and my H.S. Class of '68 class song The Impossible Dream . Mr. Ames is not only a noted singer, but also an actor on screen and Broadway. Ahhh, such good memories. Every Christmas when I get out our Christmas tapes and Cd's I get to listen to Ed Ames for a full month. If you have never heard Mr. Ames sing, just click on some of the songs I have listed above and be prepared to be delighted.

Hootie likes to walk to check the mail and maybe get to visit with a neighbor while he's in Phoenix. He is, in fact, wayyyy more sociable than I. I'm always glad when we go out and there are no people in sight. Since his full name is Hairy "Hootie" Houdini he has streaked out our front door like an escape artist more than once! Then the chase is on. Although normally he spends most of his day acting like my shadow, when he pulls one of his great escapes he acts like he has no idea who I am when I'm calling him. Drives me nuts. Luckily we're in a gated community so I eventually coral him.

This is my favorite shot! I took it from the passenger seat on I-90 in Western Montana.

Had no idea that taking it through a Windshield Sunscreen Tint Strip would produce this result.

I-15 driving toward Salt Lake City affords this stunning view of the Wasatch Mtns.

Christmas morning we had a yummy brunch at Jessica and David's apartment. They fixed a nice egg pie & fresh fruit plate. These shots of Sand Creek were taken in November before we got pounded with snow. The past few days the weather has been yucky. Rain. Thawing. Freezing. Black ice. We got so much snow prior to the rain that there is still a lot of snow here at the cabin. Only problem is that it's now not even good snowball or snowman snow. Just slippery, hard, 4-wheel drive snow. Sheesh!!

ps-I just found out that Tanya McCoy, a young mother of 3, was killed in a car accident on Thanksgiving morning. Her 10 year old son, Andrew, is in critical condition. Please pray for her husband Sean and the family. She was a really sweet lady and always kind to me.

This walking tunnel goes under the main highway so folks can walk from the downtown parking lot to the Indian casino. It was quite a controversial addition to our small Idaho town, as it didn't "come cheap". After a few years though, the ruckus has passed. We don't use it, but I did discover it casts some pretty cool shadows!

This is a day early for Veteran's Day, but I wanted to post it in honor of my dear father in law, John H. Phillips, who passed away today at the age of 87. He was a WWII Army veteran and a special, godly man. He and my mother in law had been married 65 years (today)and raised 3 daughters and one son. Dad had Alzheimer's and began fading quickly in the past month. Patrick has gone to see him (and Ouma) the past 2 days, so knew this was inevitable. We love you Dad.

ps-The large birthmark on my cheek was a dysplastic nevus. I had 8 plastic surgeries on my face from the age of 6 months to 12 years. It was always part of me, so I really wasn't self conscious. Being from a small town everyone knew it wasn't chocolate or dirt on my cheek. Only people who didn't know me would comment to that effect. :<)

A Portrait ~ My Early Birthday Gift

Look what the UPS man delivered on Tuesday!

This oil painting was an early birthday gift from Patrick. I had been wanting a portrait of our 2 babies for some time, so we asked NY artist Amarillis Kroon if she would do us the honors. These photos don't even do it justice. I currently have the portrait in our bedroom so I can lay in bed and enjoy it. (Dogs on the bed with me~dogs on the wall!) I can't believe how well she captured Hootie and Baby Rocket Dog's personalities. I'm thrilled. If anyone is interested in commissioning Ami to do a portrait her website is www.amikroon.com . Wandered around Lake Pend Oreille's deserted shores the other day seeing what shadows I could capture. The gulls wouldn't hold still long enough for me to get a good shot, so I photographed the inanimate. This is part 1, as I have a few more Shadow Shots from this day I'll share next week. Here's what Wikipedia has to say about our beautiful lake:

Lake Pend Oreille is a lake in the northern Idaho Panhandle, with a surface area of 148 square miles. It is 65 miles (105 km) long, and 1,150 feet (350 m) deep in some regions, making it the fifth deepest in the United States. It is fed by the Clark Fork River and the Pack River, and drains via the Pend Oreille River. It is surrounded by national forests and a few small towns, with the largest population on the lake at Sandpoint. All but the southern tip of the lake is in Bonner County. The southern tip is in Kootenai County and is home to Farragut State Park, formerly the "Farragut Naval Training Station" during World War II. The forests consist of ponderosa pine, Douglas fir, Poplar, Quaking Aspen, Paper Birch and Western Larch. Local animal species include whitetail deer, elk, gray wolves, moose, squirrels, black bears, grizzly bears, coyotes and bobcats, along with bald eagles, osprey, owls, hummingbirds, hawks, woodpeckers, ducks and the mountain bluebird. The lake is a home for several species of migratory water fowl.

Kid In Toy Claw Machine

A post on FaceBook about a 9 year old kid (yes, 9yrs old!) who crawled into one of those toy claw machines at WalMart inspired this post. #1, are these children so hard up for toys that they need to use their contortionist skills to get a toy? These are 2 shots of some windows at our daughter & SIL's place in Seattle. I slept in their living room while there and had to get out my camera for this nifty night time shadow. The shot below is what it looked like with my flash on.

This cute little kiddo is C2's daughter M2 when she was a mere 9 year old. Her 11th birthday was Sept.27th so I thought I would share these shadow shots I took while visiting them for a gymnastics review in Tucson the beginning of 2009. It's amazing how quickly they grow up. I'm kind of M2's surrogate granny...or maybe her fun old auntie!!

COLOR Monday ~ Black...

Airedale Terriers and Welsh Terriers are sometimes called the Black & Tan Terrier. Hairy "Hootie" Houdini, our Welshie, sleeping in the chair I bought for him and Baby Rocket Dog lounging on one of her pillows are my favorite Black & Tans. They are so full of life...and mischief. I just love them. How could I chose anything else for my black post?!

When Airedales and Welshies are born they are mostly black. Black faces and bodies. As they mature, the tan takes over and the black saddle & top of the neck is all that remains. Here are photos of baby Baby (top 3) and baby Hootie and one of the two of them together.

Took all these shots while in Massachusetts. Patrick drove under this lovely, old railroad bridge, then pulled off the road so I could get a few shots. I have no idea who the grave markers pay tribute to, but liked the way the shadows played on them. The top marker, made from a standing stone, made us chuckle.

Color ~ The New Black ~ Brown!

This is my favorite brown eyed girl, my only daughter Jessica. She started out, at birth, with black hair and black eyes. After a few months her eyes changed to brown and her hair turned blonde. Between then and now her hair has been a few different lovely colors, one of my faves being blue. Now it is a beautiful chestnut brown. The woodwork in her and David's apartment is all deep brown. Even that screen behind her is brown. Wow, score!

Brown is my main color at the cabin. I've been told I'm "an earth tone", and I guess it shows! This little brown alpaca was just a few days old when I took this picture at the county fair.

These are my favorite t-shirts...all different shades of brown due to lots of wear! Life IS good! I had to include our brown bathmat here, since it is so soft (& absorbent!) and reversible too.

Well, I'm back in the Pacific Time Zone, and our weather is cool and already very Autumn-like. That means I'm game for taking our pooches for nice long walks at the game refuge. The trail follows the river and has lovely shadows most of the way. We didn't see any moose, but the mosquitoes were out in force! Sheesh!! My top two photos do feature some shadowy moose though ~ they are on the curtains I sewed for in our little loft bathroom.

Shadow Shot Sunday ~ Plymouth, Massachusetts

The first 3 Shadow Shots are of the portico that cover the Plymouth Rock. The last 2 shots are of the Plymouth Rock itself. I'm the shadow on the right, Pat's on the left.

The Massachusetts Tourist Guide says the following:

Plymouth, Massachusetts, is famous because of a small and rather unimpressive boulder.

But when visitors come to Plymouth Rock, they are coming not because the rock is much to look at, but because Plymouth, as the landing place of the pilgrims, is a symbol for the ideal of religious freedom and the quest for a better life.

Patrick and I visited the Pilgrim museum and have gone on the Mayflower II tour. Our country's history may be short compared to many other country's, but it is so rich and steeped in the principles of freedom.

Work On The Cabin ~ Summer 2010

Our friend, Joated from Compass Points, posted some photos of work he's having done at his cabin at the Aerie, and it inspired me to get a few pictures posted of our summers work too. I need to take more pics, but here are ones I took between May and last month. We had all 12 posts holding up our deck replaced and properly anchored in the ground with piers calculated to bear the load this time (just 5 yrs after being built~sigh). The old posts were removed and replaced with logs by Dave Winn & Robert after Rich poured the concrete for the piers. We had a concrete patio laid outside our walkout basement by Rich Brown,BR Concrete and stucco and stonework done by Matthew and Eli of Inland Masonry and Larry who has a construction business. The place was a whirrr of activity for many weeks off and on this summer. This was all done between Patrick completely sanding down the deck and David brightening and power washing it. Then of course, Patrick and I finished up by staining the deck and hand rails and 12 log deck supports. Phew! We were busy!!

Color ~ Week 4 ~ Green!

Here is a mish-mash of green things. The peas in a pod really cracked me up. I was a vegetarian for 30 some years, but never would have thought to march in a parade to advertise it! The scenic photo is of the twin rivers north of us. In real-life it is breath taking. I honestly cried when I saw it the first time. The view was so amazing. My water grown Daffodils have since been transplanted to the dirt and I'm afraid the African Violet might be on it's last legs. I've never had good luck with them, but for some reason can't stop trying. The green container Jess is pointing to holds one of my favorite sugar ladened treats, Hawaiian shave ice. Can only get that at the county fair. Yum. The mint julep soap at Sandpoint farmer's market looked good enough to eat too...hmmm seems that maybe I'm hungry now!!

Shadow Shot Sunday #119

Patrick & I have been staining our deck after David brightened & power washed it. I found a few shadows while Pat was working on the edges. Then I snapped him relaxing a bit last evening. The final shot is of the Moon and Mars (to it's right) in the night sky. The sky was really glorious - filled with stars. Unfortunately it didn't translate as nicely into photo form.

COLOR ~ Week 3 ~ Yellow

These were the first yellow Calla Lilies I have ever seen. I got them at our local Safeway store.

Yesterday Patrick, Jessica, David and I went to visit the game preserve. Jessica's yellow/mustard colored sweater really stood out. I took a lot of pictures there and might just regale you with them later!

These flowers were a gift a few weeks ago from my friend Shelly. She knew I was feeling a bit "blue" so thought some yellow would cheer me up!

Aw come on, you didn't really think I'd do a post without one pooch picture, did you?!

You've probably guessed, today is Color Monday and our color is yellow!

How much is that doggy in the window? Priceless. Our daughter & son-in-law have been here a few days and were pampering Hootie with their attention. Glad I snuck up on them and got these Shadow Shots.

Shadow Shot Sunday ~ #116 ~ Around The Cabin

This series of 3 photos was taken as I laid on our bed in the loft. Finally figured out how to turn off the flash. You can see my tootsies on the pillow in the second one. He he.

Here Hootie points out a thin shadow.

These Coues Deer antlers came from Arizona. (Pronounced "cows", but almost everyone pronounces it "coos".)

We call our place Smiling Moose Point. I collect different moosely items for that reason.

Our deck is 3-sided and Patrick sanded it down by hand last month...What a job! Our son-in-law is coming over from Seattle next week to stain it. Of course the daughter will accompany him. Yippee!! Haven't seen her since December so can hardly wait.

This shadow falls on the dreaded pile of dirt. That pile has been there for 5 years now and I can't stand it! When our dogs go outside and start their crazy-terrier-zoomies they run up on that pile and cause a terrible dust cloud. I think my hubby is going to (finally) move it when he gets here next. He plans on filling in dirt behind the new retaining walls so I'm hoping the removal of this dirt pile is part of that plan.

Did I mention that I am something of a hermit?

I took all of these shots in and around our cabin. Shadows just kept showing themselves to me!

COLOR ~ Week 1 ~ Red

Patrick took the top 3 photos here on the 4th of July. Yup, that's me in my red, fleece jacket. Wow, I had my red ruby earrings on too!!

This is Hootie, our Welsh Terrier, eating his supper from the red Kong Wobbler.

I shot these last 3 photos at our farmer's market last Saturday. Red everywhere!!

These Shadow Shots were taken with my husband's cell phone when we went out to eat at one of 3 Mexican restaurants in Sandpoint. We both are always on the lookout for some different shadows. It's an addiction of sorts!!

Shadow Shot Sunday ~ #114 ~ My Hanging Gardens

I call these the Hanging Gardens of BlabbyOn!! When my husband started sanding our deck I had to take all my hanging planters down. He hung these up on the woodshed for me and whoa is my Early Girl tomato going gang busters!! She's the one in the middle. You can see from the top photo that I "double use" my water...When the hanging plants get watered my rhubarb and (crumby,little) sunflowers get watered 2nd hand!! I'm thinking that counts as recycling, right Suz?? I can hardly wait to get some nice, fat green tomatoes.
