Shadow Shot Sunday ~ Lovely Young Ladies

A beautiful day in Big Sky country.
Gaye getting tips on how to make a braided rug.
The log buildings had already been auctioned off. Plenty of furniture for sale there.
Gaye near Libby Dam, Montana.
A view along the Yaak River.
Gaye near Yaak Falls.
Went to Rexford, Montana, last Saturday with my friend, Gaye. It was the first time I ever attended the West Kootenai Amish Auction. In the early morning I worked registration for our Kootenai River Run (first year I haven't actually done the run in a while) until a little after 9am. Then we took off for Rexford...the long route. 3 1/2 hours later, after a gorgeous drive through the Yaak country, we arrived. Trouble was all but 3 of the 186 quilts were already sold. Phooey! There were still some shadows to be found though. And also lots of yummy home-made ice cream, BBQ chicken and Polish sausages. I was totally captivated by how lovely the young Amish girls were. Tall and slender with a look of purity that melted my heart! Gaye and I had a grand time eating and talking and "window" shopping! I hope you enjoy these shots and get a feel for how sweet the day was.
For more Shadow Shots, please stop over to Tracy's blog, Hey Harriet. Hoping your weekend is going great.
love, Cassie

Lovely day -- thanks for sharing! I sure was surprised to read down and see that this was in Montana. Had no idea that the Amish had a settlement there. Those are beautiful -- and respectful --pictures. And the Kootenai is beautiful.

Looks like a fun day at the Amish auction. I like the colors of the girls' dresses. Probably the quilts had some of those colors also. Nice shadow captures. :)

Your day looks like it was lots of fun Cassie! I would love to go to an Amish auction and see the beautiful work. The girls are lovely. Thanks for your visit yesterday. It was very windy when I took the roses picture-it is warmmer today! I am not sure of Dungeness is famous for crab. I know Cromer in Norfolk is. I did find a lot of crab parts-legs mainly-on the beach though so it seems quite likely!
